I am a qualified online counsellor offering support for managing issues around disability, living as a carer, life stress, anxiety, depression or loss.
I work with issues around disability, chronic fatigue or neuro-divergence including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
About me and my practice
I have run this small online counselling service since July 2017.
Ioffers online counselling via webcam, live typed messages or email. The practice is open to adults who would find using the internet the best way to access counselling support.
I can offer counselling sessions to work through issues around trauma, personal identity, neurodivergent identity and coping with life changes. I can also offer one off taster or listening sessions if you would like to talk but are unsure how online counselling would be for you.
I have a BACp approved counselling diploma, online counselling qualifications and a degree in Psychology from the University of Southampton.
My BACP membership number is 807616 and I work to their Ethical Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy including the supplementary Working Online guidelines bacp.co.uk. I am also a member of Association of Counselling and Therapy Online Membership number 489. I am fully insured for counselling work. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office and have a GDPR policy - please email me for a copy.
Experience
I qualified as a counsellor in 2003. I have practiced as a counsellor and specialist mentor since that date and have run Accessible Counselling as a private practice since 2017.
Qualifications
I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Southampton.
I have a Counselling Skills certificate and a Diploma in Psychodynamic counselling from a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) approved training course.I have a Certificate in Online Counselling via Online Training for Counsellors Ltd. (CPCAB accredited). I have a certificate in Online Counselling from Online Counelling Services and Training in webcam and voice counselling.
Additional Information
I aim to offer a counselling that is as accessible as possible and I am happy to discuss how interactions can work around fatigue or sensory issues and caring responsibilities including parenting or live in care. I offer scheduled video call meetings but counselling can also include email work via proton mail or paced text messaging via signal.
